The Indian National Congress had asked Tagore Ji (Guru Ji), to write a song to welcome the King of England , King George. Though Guru Ji himself later clarified that ” he cannot write in praise of king of England, but had written in praise of Bharat Mata”. Personally, Now when I listen to national anthem, it seems to me, it is in praise of King of England”.

@pavan @sudheer Friends Tagore ji himself cleared this in his biography “Ravindrajivani” that it was not referred to King George but to “God of Destiny”.

that is a controversial topic regarding whom does ‘thou’ in the national anthem refer to….
actually,tagore ji wrote the anthem praising india or ‘bharat mata’ referring her to ‘thou’…but since it is written and used in the context of welcoming british king lord Panchem,many infer that ‘thou’ would refer to the king.but nothing can be commented for sure in the present situation….

i do accept ARR has really work a lot to develope this song that is awesome hats-off to him
i to had a question in my mind that we people are singing this song without knowing the meaning but later on once i came 2 know the real meaning of this i got shocked
now i got a question the question is —-
