There have been hundreds of thousands of magazines which were published in last centuries since the first magazine The Gentleman’s magazine rolled out in 1731 in London. Since then many of them mesmerized its readers and stayed in the business for a longer period whereas many discontinued because of lack of content and numbness.But then there were magazines which were able to catch the reader’s nerves and their subscription graph rose as the time passes. Vogue

Vogue was founded as a bimonthly publication by Arthur Baldwin Turnure in 1892. When he died in 1909, Condé Nast picked it up and slowly began growing the publication. In1960 the magazine began to appeal the youth focusing more on contemporary fashion and editorial features openly discussing sexuality.In 1973 it became a monthly publication and underwent extensive editorial and stylistic changes to respond to changes in the lifestyles of its target audience.Anna Wintour is the current chief in editor.It has other publications by the name Vogue,British edition and Men’s Vogue .In 2007,magazine drew criticism from the anti-smoking group, “Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids“, for carrying tobacco advertisements in the magazine.

Instyle

Instyle is a monthly women’s fashion magazine, published by Time Inc. in the United States. The magazine offers articles about beauty, fashion, home, entertaining, charitable endeavors, and celebrity lifestyles. Launched in 1994, InStyle currently has a circulation of 1.7 million.

Cosmopolitan

It is an International magazine for women. It was first published in 1886 in the United States as a family magazine and eventually became a women’s magazine in the late 1960s. Also known as Cosmo its current content includes articles on relationships and sex, health, careers, self-improvement it has 58 international editions, is printed in 34 languages and is distributed in more than 100 countries.In recent years the magazine and in particular its cover stories have become more sexually explicit in tone.Once cosmopolitan ran a feature claiming that women had almost no reason to worry if a women makes sex with HIV positive men.This article angered many AIDS activists.

It is an international fashion magazine published by the Groupe Alain Ayache. It has a circulation of 80,000.It was founded in 1998 by Elisabeth Djian, current editor-in-chief of magazine.

Glamour Magazine

Founded in 1939 in the US , It targets women 18-49  and reaches a subscription audience of 1,411,061 readers in the United States. Its circulation on news stands is 986,447, making the total average paid circulation: 2,397,508.Since 1980, the magazine has held an annual “Women of the Year” awards ceremony.Launched in UK in 2001 with tagline fits in your life as well as your handbag”

Allure is a women’s beauty magazine. It was founded in 1991, and its current Editor in Chief is Linda Wells. Recent cover subjects have included Victoria Beckham, Fergie, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner, Christina Aguilera, Katie Holmes,Hilary Duff, and Gwen Stefani.

Marie Claire

Marie Claire is a monthly women’s magazine conceived in France but also distributed in other countries with editions specific to them and in their languages. Jean Prouvost created the first issue in 1937, which was distributed each Wednesday.The theme for Marie Claire is “More than a Pretty Face ”. The magazine gives readers information about different women around the world and their needs, struggles, and stories of life.The marie claire website provides daily fashion, beauty and lifestyle news to Yahoo!7.

Esquire

Esquire is a men’s magazine by the Hearst Corporation with a strong literary tradition. Founded in 1932.In October 2008, to commemorate the magazine’s 75th Anniversary, Esquire published a limited edition digital cover that featured electronic ink with moving words and flashing images. The electronic cover was used in only 100,000 copies that went to newsstands — its overall circulation is about 720,000. W magazine

W is a monthly American fashion magazine published by Condé Nast Publications. W magazine has a reader base of nearly half a million, 469,000 of which are annual subscribers. 80 percent of the magazine’s readers are female and have an average household income of $135,840.Other controversial issues include Steven Meisel’s shoot entitled “ASexual Revolution,” in which male and female models (including Jessica Stam and Karen Elson) are depicted in gender-bending styles and provocative poses.
